Isoken Onwuchekwa graduated from Bendel State University, Ekpoma, Edo State, in 1990 with a Bachelor of Laws, LL.B Degree. She proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, Lagos and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1991. She subsequently qualified as a Solicitor of England & Wales in 2002.
In 1992, Isoken worked as a Legal Officer with Golden Gate Ventures Limited, a Finance and Investment Company. Her duties included the provision of legal advice to management, drafting and reviewing investment contracts between the company and its clients, as well as, the provision of company secretarial services.
She subsequently joined the law firm of Clarke, Paiko and Co. as an associate. She grew to the position of senior associate and later Head of Chambers. She has been involved in the legal representation of both individual and corporate clients in arbitration proceedings, civil, criminal and commercial litigation matters up to the superior courts of record to the Court of Appeal.
